Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on network, firewall and server management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network design, server maintenance, and infrastructure optimization. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of network and server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Management:
    • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
    • Manage network security protocols and policies, including access controls and intrusion prevention systems.
    • Optimize network performance through configuration and regular updates.
  • Server Administration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades for operating systems and server applications.
  • Monitor server performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure server security through proper configuration and regular audits.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Document network and server configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to ensure alignment of infrastructure with organizational goals.
  • Manage hardware and software inventory and lifecycle.
  • Provide support for network and server-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Respond to and manage support requests from internal users related to network and server performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Network and information security engineering, Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in network and server administration, with a strong focus on network infrastructure and server management.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and technologies (LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls).
    • Hands-on experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix).
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and if possible, cloud platforms (Google, Azure) is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Server+, or Microsoft MCSE are preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
