Theology Scholarships
 
The Sunday Schools and Spiritual Youth Committee reviews and nominates for OES Board approval scholarship applications for graduate and post graduate degrees in Christian Orthodox Theology, which OES offers at the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology in the University of Balamand in Lebanon as well as at universities in Greece. The aim is to prepare qualified Orthodox clerics and Sunday School teachers and raise the academic and theological standards of all Orthodox clergy and laymen who wish to join the theological service, for the benefit of the Christian community and its religious educational institutions. Most of the graduates of these scholarships have gone on to become priests, bishops or teachers. 
 
OES has granted 33 scholarships so far, in addition to current students on scholarship.
